The Rest of the Summer...

So much for my empty promises, I know... A lot has happened since my July 4th posting! Carson turned four and he now cruises the neighborhood in his new wheels... That is him riding around with his cousin Christina. My brother, James, brought Christina and Cody to Florida for a summer vacation. We had a great time visiting with them!!

Right after their visit, Kevin and I went down to the Key's with some friends for a week. We were after Florida lobster in the mini-season! Now, I won't go as far as to say the lobster actually laughed at us, but they certainly weren't too threatened by our prowess. I'm not speaking for everyone that went with us though, some guys in our group really were skilled in digging into the holes in the ocean floor to bring some dinner home!

Meanwhile, mom and dad got the boys fishing this sumer and Colby is especially hooked - no pun intented. Kyle caught about an 8 lb catfish and they each caught a bunch of sunfish and even a snapping turtle! Oh, and one fish scored a really nice barbie fishing pole by pulling it right out of Kaitlyn's hands! No worries though, she is certain that he went to the fish doctor to have it removed. Fishing was one of the kids favorite summer activities with grandma and grandpa, but nothing was more cherished than the weekly trips to the matinee at the dog track though! Should I be worried that Kyle knows how to bet a box quinella?

Alas, the summer had to come to and end last week and Kyle, Kaitlyn and Colby returned to school. Everyone seems to like it so far! Even Carson has started Florida's Pre-K program at his daycare. Look at this crew on their first day of school!

We did have one last hoorah this past weekend, celebrating Kaitlyn and Colby's 6th birthday! Friday night the girls went for Hannah Montana make overs at Libby Lu's while the boys went to Dave and Busters for lots of fun and video games. Friends and family came over on Sunday and we had a great time in the pool, playing basketball and riding bikes. Never let it be said that the McCrone birthday parties will have PONY rides!!
We have one last big event of the summer and that is Uncle Mark's wedding this weekend! He and Cheech are getting married in Sarasota and we are all very excited. Kyle is in the wedding so expect a picture of him in his first tuxedo!
Then it will be time to settle into our normal routine of school, homework, soccer practices for Kyle, Colby AND Carson and games on Saturday! Yes, Kaitlyn is still 'just watching everyone", but she did mention tball the other day...we'll see.
I think that about catches everyone up on what is going on with us...should I even dare to say it??? Yeah, I will talk to you soon!
Love, C

Happy Fourth!!

Happy Fourth of July to everyone! Despite the promise of rain, we were able to enjoy many hours in the pool today with the family! Kevin cooked burgers and hot dogs and even some corn on the grill. Every thing was delicious and even Tempe got to enjoy an ear of corn and some watermelon! Can you believe she knew how to eat the kernals right off the cob? Right now it IS raining, but we are hoping it will clear to enjoy some fireworks in the neighborhood a little later on.

Today is just a warm up for this weekend, when we will have the family and some friends over for Carson's fourth birthday. Even my brother and his two children will be here. I am sure I will have lots of photos to post after the party. We are getting Carson a motorized Jeep for his birthday -shhh don't tell - and can you believe those little cars have working FM radios these days? Seriously, we may be driving to work next week in that thing. Carson was really cute this year, wanting his party out back in the pool with just family and a hand full of friends that we consider family. Should be a really nice time. Check out his skills in the pool these days!!

And speaking of skills in the pool! Colby has become quite an awesome swimmer! Last weekend he came in fourth place (freestyle) out of 12 boys in the 6 and under age bracket. He also got his best backstroke time ever in that meet by limiting the number of circles he swam in. He really is improving and we are all quite proud of him and you should see the muscles and tan the boy has developed!! Stay posted as he qualified for the Championships in late July.

We are all really enjoying our summer and maybe that is why I haven't posted lately, but I promise to try and do better! There are some pictures out there to look at there if you hit the link to the left. Take care! Love, Carolyn

I CAN RIDE!!

Yes, believe it or not, Kaitlyn has mastered the two wheeler. After bribing her with FIVE days straight of double scooped ice cream, Grandma and Grandpa got her to actually pedal her bike. The rest is history. For the record, the Batman helmet and pads have since been replaced...Hey, I didn't think she would REALLY ride her bike! Kyle enjoyed his week of basketball camp at UNF last week and this week has been a football camp at Nease High School! We are all taking a vacation day this Friday to head to Wild Waters in Ocala. I should have some pictures to share from that trip. Colby is swimming almost every day and is really improving. Carson still goes to school almost every day, but sometimes gets to stay home with Grandma and Grandpa. I have decided that ALL grown ups should get a summer vacation, not just you lucky teachers!! Oh, have to add this picture of Captain Carson Jack Sparrow...he dressed up for a Mother's day fashion show last week and just got these pix. Cute, huh?

No more teachers, no more books....

School is out for summer!! Colby and Kaitlyn had a graduation ceremony on Friday that was really cute. After that, we had a very busy weekend. Check out the new pictures of Kyle's last soccer game and also his first basketball game. They won soccer 11-6,but basketball was a loss at 16-12. On the UP side, all twelve points were scored by Kyle!! I only caught the end of Colby's tball game but I was in time to see him hit a home run!! Not much else to write right now...we are all beat from this weekend's activities! Talk to you soon!!

Serious Swimmer

For those who did not believe me, I got a photo of our very serious swimmer. How can you not love that suit? Kaitlyn broke it to me tonight that she would like to quit gymnastics and join the swim team. May be too late for her to get in this summer, but we did make a request with the board of directors...so we will see.
Kyle made the Advanced Soccer team! I am more excited than he is, but he will get better coaching, more practice and a couple of tournaments to play in. Also, this league lasts until Spring of next year!
We have a busy weekend ahead with Colby's last Tball game, Kyle's last soccer game (for this season), swim practice, Kyle's first basketball game, Tball end of season party and soccer end of season party. Kevin and I will have to divide and conquer to make all that happen.
I have officially started my photography class as of today. It is an online class, but looks really interesting and - as you may have noticed - I really enjoy taking pictures.
I have added a couple of links to the blog. One is Kyle's upcoming Basketball game schedule. The other is the Swim Team site, showing when Colby's meets will be. Hey mom, put Kyle's new schedule in that PDA!
Talk to everyone real soon!

Let's get this Blog started!

These days we spend a good bit of time at the ball parks. Colby is playing TBall and even made the Allstar team. Three times a week, we all hit the community center pool for Colby's swim team practice. Yes, really, swim team practice. Kyle is playing soccer and their team is undefeated. Last night he tried out for the advanced soccer team and did really well, so I'm hoping he makes it. Kyle has also started basketball practice. He is playing for the Magic. His first game is this weekend. I will let you know how that goes. Carson will be old enough to play soccer in the Fall and I am REALLY looking forward to that! He is our 'little guy', but he surely doesn't think so! Kaitlyn is still doing gymnastics - indoors, so as not to get too sweaty.
This is also our last week of school. The kids are excited about that and looking forward to having summer camp with my mom and dad! Our summer vacation is FOURTEEN weeks! This is because next year we are starting almost a month later - August 24. Next year Kyle will be in third grade, Kaitlyn and Colby in first and Carson will start pre-kindergarten.
I'm still figuring out this whole blogging thing, but stay posted for updates! I think I'm going to enjoy doing this!
Talk to you soon!
